French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) has selected Thales Spy Ranger mini surveillance and reconnaissance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to equip the French forces.
From 2018 on wards, Thales will deliver up to 210 of these backpack transportable tactical surveillance UAVs.
The rail launched SpyRanger is capable of day and night surveillance missions with a endurance of 2 hour 30 minutes
